Checking out Reserve Items

Reserve items are print materials,CDs or DVDs, chosen by instructors, that have been put aside for their students' use.  This is usually done when there is only one or two copies of an item that many students need to access.  Rather than having the material available for someone to check out, which would make it unavailable for everyone else in the class, it is sent to the Reserve desk and made available for short term use, usually within the library only.  Check-out periods for Reserve items vary and may be hourly, daily or weekly.  FINES FOR RESERVE ITEMS DIFFER FROM THOSE FOR GENERAL COLLECTION ITEMS, AND THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD ON RESERVE ITEMS.

Reserve Item Fines

$5.00 per HOUR  for items with an hourly loan limit

$25.00 per DAY for items with a daily or weekly loan limit.

Instructors may determine what the replacement cost will be for reserve items that belong to the instructor rather than to the library.
