Finding Print Journals

To find out what print journals the library owns on your topic:

  1. Go to Forsyth Library's Online Catalog.

  2. Type in your broad topic (such as physics, education, etc.), OR words in the title, if you know the journal you want.

  3. Select Journal Title Keyword and search.

  4. Click on a title to see what years/issues the library owns

  5. Write down the call number of the Journal.  (Ex:  BF1.A5)

  6. Journals from 1994 to the present are located on the main floor of the library in the Periodicals Section. First find the letter or letters on the shelves; they are arranged alphabetically. For example, find the Bs. Then, go through alphabetically in the Bs until you find the BFs (B, BA, BB, etc.) Next, find the number (in this case, 1 ), then the letter (BF1.A), etc. Ask a librarian or student worker if you need help.

  7. Older journals are in the process of being reshelved in the basement; some remain on temporary shelving/floor of the 2nd floor.  Ask a librarian for help in locating these journals.
