OverDue Notices  (Note: shelves are checked prior to sending overdue notices)

1st overdue notices are sent on the first day an item is overdue,  as a courtesy to remind patrons of items checked out.  If the item is returned within 7 days of the due date, no fine is charged. If it is not returned during this 7 day grace period, fines accrue at the rate of 25 cents per day from the due date.

2nd Overdue notice is sent out on the 8th day the item is overdue.  The item is now no longer in the Grace Period, and a $2.00 fine has accrued.

3rd Overdue notice is sent out on the 15th day the item is overdue.  The item now has a $4.00 fine accrued.

A Lost Item notice is sent out after the item is 50 days overdue.  The item has a $12.50 fine PLUS additional fees for replacement  (See chart above).

If your library card is lost or stolen it is your responsibility to notify the Forsyth Library Circulation Department (785-628-4434).  Fines and Lost item charges will not be cancelled for failure to notify the library of a lost card.  Materials can be renewed in person, by phone or online.

Failure to pay fines and fees will result in loss of library privileges and a HOLD will be placed on your student record.  This may prevent you from enrolling or from receiving your grades or transcripts. Large unpaid fines may be reported to a collection agency.  Library privileges will be restored and holds lifted when the fines and fees are paid.
